Adjustable Metal Wall Sconce

A small cast iron wall light, 13 by 10 cm, with a matte shade and a polished brass-tone accent at the joint. The shade pivots, which is the feature that matters: it can be angled down onto a book, turned to wash light up a wall, or aimed into a corner to open up a dark hallway.

That adjustability is what separates a reading sconce from a purely decorative one. Mounted beside a bed at shoulder height it delivers a focused pool onto a page without lighting the whole room, so one person can read while the other sleeps, and it frees up the nightstand entirely.

Cast iron gives it real weight and a solidity that pressed steel fittings do not have. Two finishes are offered, black and white, both with the brass detail. The bulb is not included, and the E27 fitting takes anything from a warm filament LED to a bright neutral globe. It runs at 85 to 265 V on a wall switch and is rated for dry indoor areas only. Mounting hardware is included, but it is hard-wired, so use a qualified electrician.
