LinoMat Oval Faux Leather Placemats

An oval mat sits differently to a round one. It follows the line of a rectangular table rather than fighting it, and it gives a dinner plate room without crowding glassware and cutlery at the edges. The LinoMat is cut from a fine-grained faux leather with a soft matt finish, closer to woven linen than to gloss, which is why it works as easily under a weekday breakfast as under a set table.

The material does the hard work. Heat from a serving dish or a hot plate will not mark it, spills sit on the surface until you wipe them away, and the backing grips a polished or glass table so mats do not creep about as people eat.
