Icar Scandinavian LED Wall Lamp

A curved wooden arm carrying a frosted glass globe, 13 by 25 cm, which is the Scandinavian formula reduced to its essentials: one natural material, one diffusing material, no ornament. The wood is left with a smooth clear finish so the grain still shows, and the curve gives the piece a little movement against a flat wall.

The frosted globe is doing real work. It hides the filament completely, so there is no bright point to catch the eye from a bed or a sofa, and it spreads warm light across roughly 5 to 10 square metres. That is enough to light a hallway properly, or to serve as the only light needed beside a bed once the main ceiling light is off.

Two finishes are available, natural wood and darker walnut. It takes a warm white G9 LED and runs at 220 to 230 V, wall mounted with standard fittings. Because it is a hard-wired mains fitting, have a qualified electrician install it unless you are competent to do so. Dust the wood with a dry cloth and the glass with a soft damp one.
