Handcrafted Wooden Pendant Light

A pendant shade turned and shaped from solid wood, finished to show the grain rather than hide it under stain. Because each shade is worked individually, the grain pattern and the exact figure of the timber differ from piece to piece, which is the argument for buying a handmade fitting over a pressed one.

Wood does something to light that metal and glass cannot. The inner surface warms the output as it reflects, so even a neutral bulb comes through with an amber cast, and the solid shade throws a defined pool downward, making it well suited to a dining table or a kitchen island where you want the table lit and the room left softer.

Three diameters are offered, 23, 35 and 45 cm, in two shade profiles. Scale it to the surface beneath: roughly a third of the table width is a safe guide, hung around 75 to 85 cm above the top. It takes an E26 or E27 bulb, not included, at 90 to 260 V, with an adjustable drop. Ceiling mounted and hard-wired, so have a qualified electrician install it.
