Golden Touch Rechargeable Table Lamp

A ribbed acrylic shade on a slim metal base, cut to throw the light of the LED into vertical facets so the shade reads as crystal rather than plastic. At 30 cm tall with a 15 cm shade it has the proportions of a small hotel-table lamp, which is roughly the effect it produces on a dining table or a bar counter.

A touch sensor on the base steps through three colour temperatures from 3000 K warm to 6000 K daylight, so the same lamp can be a low amber glow over dinner or a crisp working light at a desk. The 3 W LED draws almost nothing; the 2000 mAh battery charges in one to two hours and runs for five to six.

Being cordless is what makes it useful. It can be carried out to a table on a summer evening, set on a bathroom shelf, used as a bedside light where there is no socket, or moved around a restaurant table by table. Three finishes are offered: gold, black and white. Charge it fully before first use and wipe the acrylic with a soft dry cloth to avoid scratching it.
