Vintage Flower Glass Pendant Lamp

A glass shade shaped like an opening flower, 25 cm across, hung from a brass-finished fitting. The petal form is not just decoration: the flutes it creates in the glass break the light into soft facets, so the shade sparkles rather than simply glowing.

Because the glass is coloured through rather than surface-tinted, it holds its character in daylight as an object above a table and not only after dark. Four finishes are offered, green, gold, transparent and white, each giving a noticeably different quality of light: the green and gold pour warm colour onto a table below, while the transparent one throws sharper highlights.

The cord runs to 150 cm and is adjustable, so it can hang low over a kitchen island or higher in a dining room. The general rule for a dining table is roughly 75 to 85 cm above the surface. It takes an E26 or E27 bulb, not included, so you choose the warmth. It is a ceiling-mounted hard-wired fitting for indoor use at 220 to 240 V, so have a qualified electrician install it.
