Magpie Bird Pendant Light

A slim metal ring or ellipse with a single bird perched on its lower edge, the light running around the frame itself rather than sitting in a shade. The bird reads clearly in silhouette against the lit ring, which is where the whole effect comes from: it looks drawn rather than manufactured.

Two forms are offered. The circular version at 29 cm across works best as a single pendant over a bedside or a small table. The ellipse, 35 by 17 cm, hangs horizontally and suits a dining table or a run of counter where a wider spread of light is useful.

The 31 W LED is integrated, so there is no bulb to buy or replace, and the output is smooth and even along the frame. Zinc alloy and acrylic keep the weight manageable while holding the shape rigid. Three finishes: gold, black with gold, and silvery. The 150 cm cable adjusts, and it runs at AC 85 to 265 V. Ceiling mounted and hard-wired, so have a qualified electrician install it.
