Bauhaus Layered Glass Pendant Lamp
Flat discs of coloured glass stacked one above another on an iron stem, in one, two or three layers. The arrangement is pure Bauhaus: simple geometric forms repeated at intervals, with the light escaping between the layers rather than from a single shade.
That gap between discs is what produces the effect. Light leaks out horizontally in bands, so the fitting throws a striped glow onto the ceiling and the surrounding wall as well as downward onto the table. Three glass colours are offered, amber, green and smoke grey, each changing the tone of that spill considerably.
Sizes run from a single 25 cm disc up to a three-layer 45 cm version standing 33 cm tall, so it scales from a modest hallway fitting to a genuine centrepiece over a dining table or a bar. The LED is built in and energy efficient, in warm or neutral white, with no bulb to buy. Ceiling mounted on a hanging cord and hard-wired, so have a qualified electrician install it.
